Introduction to... Protective Orders (DV)

Updated February 27, 2017.

Domestic violence protective orders are issued under RSA 173-B, Protection of Persons from Domestic Violence and are also called "restraining orders." The Circuit Court has created a how-to checklist on filing for a domestic violence restraining order (see link below). The domestic violence petition is not available on the Judicial Branch website. Contact the court or your local domestic violence center for assistance.
